preparations took all day,
get oil at Walmart and a back-up trailer ball..
find and remove another trailer ball at the other lot, unload transmission
and rear axle.
load extra gas , get air, jack , bottle jack, tools .......

then I got there an hour before dark, luckily that guy had a
compressor, as 2 tires had leaked....

once I got it hooked up , all windows secured, aired up, it was rather easy.

this guy could tell me I was close to a wall, so I scraped up a corner
that had survived unscathed for 53 years, so much for that help.

it moved easily at 30 miles/hr.
Barely felt the weight, supposedly 5-8000 lbs ..
got to the lot with last light, and no time to arrange properly, but
did jack up on 4 of 8 stands, just so the weight was somewhat off the
tires...
once fixed up I wouldn't mind taking it to the beach for a long
weekend or something like that....

On January 6th a friend drops by about a BMW 528 raer window for a friend of his. We talk and he brings up athat I need to see this BIG monster of a trailer, all aluminum ,and and and....
I only had one Question: IS IT A SPARTAN ?
He says he thinks so, almost surprised , that I asked. How would I know.
I said I'll be by the next day to look at it.

January 7th
I finally made my way to the 'location'.
Arriving midday.
Ken The friend's friend shows me across the street.
We walk in and somebody says 'Hi' until I realizd the voice came out of a Jeep wrangler we walked by, heavily loaded with (???) lots of stuff.
We walk past one House then another, a debris field indicative of a somewhat hastened move-out (more to that later) and
THERE IT IS !
It is a monster, bigger than the last one I almost got my hands on.
About the same as another I saw stationed for a few hours near my house several months ago....
It's taking up a better part of the rear yard in this 1-2 acre lot in sunny West Lancaster, CA.
The task begins:
The wheels are split rims, the kind that literally had amputated and rumored to have beheaded inexperienced tire people upon airing up an improperly installed tire.
In other words 'some dangerous sh*t'.
These were illegal by now, but what to do??
This 50+ long monster will not fly, not even slide out of here.
Joe tells me that these were dug out, but were not on the trailer ever since this 'thing' moved within the property some 12 or even 17 years ago, when Joe inherited the 'trailer' from the previous owners.
The story Joe tells me is that 'it' came back after a long stint in Mexico, where it had been some time decades ago...
